NaNoWriMo

Well, I'm returning to the writing (fiction) fold.
Next month is the National Novel Writing Month
(www.nanowrimo.org). I'll be joining thousands of
aspiring writers as we try to write a 50k first draft.
Yikes!

This will be my third year participating in NaNoWriMo.
Or is it my fourth? A couple of weeks ago I attended
my 20th year high school reunion. There I discovered
the wife of and old friend was an aspiring writer,
too. I told her about NaNoWriMo and she signed up.
Yeah!

My buddy GC, who participated last year, won't be
participating this year, preferring shorts.

Am already working on an outline for my NaNo draft.
Started to chat with fellow writers over at Forward
Motion (fmwriters.com).

Halph of my lowa jaw is numbed due to denta
appointment today.

Absence

So why haven't I blogged for so long? Because it's my
job.

Let me explain. I'm the Senior blogger for an
automotive research website. All I do -- all day and
many an evening -- is read, write, and edit blog
posts. The last thing I want to do when I'm off work
is even more blogging.

But that's work. The writer in me -- the drive that
led me into technical writing and now blogging as a
profession -- has pulled me back into other forms of
writing. Thus my reappearance in my personal blogs.

I'll be starting off small. Post here, a post there.
Goal write now is daily.

Next up: Nanowrimo.
